“Math is FUN! As a math teacher, my goal is to teach the joy, confidence, and skills to excel. I want to show young girls and students of color that they belong in idea-generating spaces and can lead in STEM. I believe everyone can be a math person.”

Caitlin Loi started at Poly in 2021 and teaches Grade 7 math with a focus on joy, discovery, and real-world applications. She came to Poly after a brief stint in investment banking, returning to her true passion of teaching math. Her teaching role models are her fun-loving Grade 6 teacher, her three educator grandparents, and Ms. Frizzle. Caitlin graduated cum laude from Bowdoin College in 2020 with a bachelor’s in economics and education and is currently studying for her master’s in middle school mathematics education at Lehman College, CUNY. While at Bowdoin, she was a varsity swimming and cross-country athlete. Caitlin grew up in Virginia, Romania, South Africa, China, and Singapore as part of a U.S. State Department family, enjoying a childhood, which allowed her to visit six continents by the time she was 16. Caitlin is an ice cream enthusiast, an avid runner, and a lover of the outdoors.
