James Cappabianca, Director of Major Gifts, joined Poly’s Advancement Department in 2023. James has over 12 years of fundraising experience with various mission-driven organizations. Prior to Poly, James served as Vice President for Advancement at Loyola School in New York City. In his career, he has worked in several advancement roles, including at Xavier High School (NYC), St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and America Media (a Jesuit media non-profit). James graduated from the College of Holy Cross and earned a Master’s degree in leadership and administration from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Education.
James is most excited about immersing himself back into an area he knew well, growing up in Bay Ridge, and helping Poly further engage its loyal alumni, parent, and alumni parent communities. James’ focus on supporting mission-driven organizations, and in particular, his love of education, is where his heart is when it comes to fundraising. He considers himself lucky to now be part of the Poly family.
James resides in Carroll Gardens with his wife Frances and their son, Henry, and is an avid golfer and sports fan (go Knicks and Yankees!).
